Scotland Summer School is an educational program held twice a year which is sponsored by his highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashed Al Maktoum. In this program, several groups from different universities within UAE and Qatar travel to Dundee in Scotland, to study in the Al Maktoum college of Higher Education.
Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education
Al-Maktoum College is an independent research-led place of higher education. It is specialized in the study of Islam and Muslims. Al-Maktoum College is not a religious organization, but it is an academic higher education institution examining the fields in the study of Islam and Muslims. It was established in 2001 in Dundee and it promotes a greater understanding of different religions and cultures in a multicultural context, for the benefit of the wider community and to build bridges between the Muslim and Western worlds at this crucial time.
The main sponsor is HH Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, whose vision for multiculturalism is at the heart of Al-Maktoum College. The college offers postgraduate programmes (taught Masters and PhD), which are validated by the University of Aberdeen. In addition it offers English Language Courses for learners intending to study in higher education, as well as for those wishing to improve their general English skills.

UAEU group
Our group members were selected by the UAEU University after some tests and interviews. We are 7 members who came from different colleges. Some of the students are specialized in Political Science, Translation, Mass Communication, Business and Information Technology. This program will add a new experience to our record and from this experience we can share the lessons that we have got with other students. In this blog we will share our experience including educative, social and funny moments. Hope you enjoy with us.
